Although Lightbearers seeks to create a permanent endowment for missions through student housing, we
do not want to simply use students for their rent money. Instead, Lightbearers uses its houses with
intentionality to promote life change in students.
Residential discipleship provides immeasurable opportunity for students to be challenged and changed. They experience both the "iron sharpening iron" quality of living together with other Christian students, and also the intentional discipleship from Lightbearers staff or ministry partners. As one former resident of the Oklahoma house said, "My spiritual life grew exponentially at the OU house...It was the best of times...and the benefits from doing life there remain in me today." That's our hope--students changed for good. And for good. |
